Welcome
The Pause for Hope initiative has been set up with the following objectives:
•
To bring together those affected by all forms of cancer, their loved ones and carers, to help them to pray for themselves and each other and to remember dear ones lost to cancer. Members of all religious denominations and faiths are welcome as well as those with little or no religious faith.
• To pray for those with responsibility for providing and allocating resources required in the investigation, treatment and care of patients with cancer.
• To help those affected to understand the Christian value of suffering and that the prayers of the sick and those who look after them have great power with God.
• To help those who don’t have cancer but have a great fear of the disease.
• To pray that the work of our scientists will soon succeed and the day will quickly come when all cancers can be prevented or cured.
• To reach out to those who are at home or in hospital as patients or carers and unable to attend the Pause for Hope services.
If it is God’s will, the initiative will continue to spread and meet the need felt by many people, who are affected by cancer or have responsibility for them, to understand the meaning of their situation and to pray for themselves and for others and to ask God quickly to bring that day forward when cancer is consigned to the history books.
Prayer is all powerful.
